SkillsVR launches EVA, an AI training assistant

Auckland immersive learning company SkillsVR has launched EVA, an AI-powered assistant that unifies workforce training across virtual reality, mobile and web. EVA sits on top of the existing SkillsVR Platform, guiding learners through modules and capturing learning records automatically as they progress. Organisations upload their existing training materials - documents, videos, procedures - and configure EVA to act as a teacher, coach, assessor, or support agent, either individually or combined within the same module. Learners can ask EVA questions mid-session and get real-time responses, with decisions, progress and outcomes flowing straight into a single reporting view. CEO James Coddington said the goal was solving fragmentation, not chasing an AI trend: "We set out to remove the pain we kept seeing. Training leaders were stretched, learners were unsupported, and systems were not talking to each other." EVA is already live at scale across sectors including healthcare and corrections - a clear sign that NZ's XR training providers are folding AI directly into immersive delivery, not just talking about it.
