VASE VR Lab
Wellington
The Virtual Architecture Simulation Environment (VASE) lab is an experimental design research facility within Victoria University of Wellington's Faculty of Architecture and Design Innovation. The lab supports research and teaching that applies augmented, mixed, virtual, and extended reality technologies to architectural design, spatial visualisation, and the built environment. Situated within a wider ecosystem of design-focused research groups at the university, including the Digital Architecture Research Alliance and the Computational Media Innovation Centre, VASE gives architecture and design students hands-on experience with immersive tools well before they enter professional practice. The lab's niche focus on architecture and spatial design sets it apart from more general-purpose XR research groups in New Zealand.
