CONICAL
Auckland
CONICAL is an Auckland-based interactive entertainment studio founded in 2016, best known for creating Green Fairy VR, widely regarded as New Zealand's first virtual reality film. The ten-minute, six-degrees-of-freedom VR movie, built in Unreal Engine, grew into a multimedia franchise including an augmented reality companion book, a TV series concept, and further VR content, and received investment from the New Zealand Film Commission along with an Epic MegaGrant. CONICAL's work sits at the intersection of storytelling and immersive technology, applying animation and game-engine production techniques to narrative-driven VR and AR experiences. The studio's early and sustained focus on VR filmmaking makes it a distinctive voice in New Zealand's XR sector.
