AR/VR Garage

AR/VR Garage is a collaborative research and development facility located in Auckland Council's GridAKL innovation hub in Eden Terrace, established to align tertiary talent with industry needs and connect New Zealand's XR sector internationally. With more than 20 high-growth company tenants, the Garage operates as a project-centric space spanning game development, animation, education, and digital media, bringing together industry, corporates, tertiary institutions, and government agencies under one roof. The facility has formed a strategic partnership with the New Zealand VR/AR Association (NZVRARA) to accelerate sector growth, and serves as the Oceania base for the international VR Society. For early-stage XR companies, AR/VR Garage offers physical workspace, peer network, and international connections.
